Ed’s Monthly & Quarterly Portfolio Summary for September   3 comments

Now that I have a full quarter under my belt with my 401k results, I decided it is time to add quarterly results to my monthly portfolio reviews. First, September’s results:

Ed’s Overall: +4.62%
Ed’s IRA: +2.39%
Ed’s 401k: +6.21%
S&P 500: +3.04%
ACWI (all-world index): +5.23%
JUBAX: +4.57%

Even with the drop in markets at the end of September, it was a good month overall. Even though my IRA lagged behind the benchmarks, my 401k made up for it:

DIS: 3.66 to $64.49 ( 6.02% , 2.74% overall)– bought at $62.77
GOOG: 29.01 to $875.91 ( 3.43% , 0.30% overall)– bought at $873.31
NNVC: 1.66 to $5.19 ( 47.03% , 47.03% overall)– bought at $3.53
SLW: -1.58 to $24.77 ( -6.00% , 25.80% overall)– bought at $19.69

The third quarter was also excellent for my portfolios against the benchmarks:

Ed’s Overall: +9.44%
Ed’s IRA: +8.16%
Ed’s 401k: +11.31%
S&P 500: +4.69%
ACWI (all-world index): +7.84%
JUBAX: +5.14%

(NOTE: I have removed my monthly 401k contributions during the specific months they were made in order to make the investment result calculations for both the 401k and the overall. However, they were included in subsequent months.)
