Ed’s Monthly Portfolio Summary for October   Leave a comment

October was a good month for me overall, beating all of my benchmarks:

Ed’s Overall: +4.97%
Ed’s IRA: +0.69%
Ed’s 401k: +9.46%
S&P 500: +4.46%
ACWI (all-world index): +3.91%
JUBAX: +1.98%

Even though my IRA didn’t perform as well as my 401k, it was the 4th consecutive month my IRA was in the black.

Obviously, my 401k had a stellar month, mostly thanks to Google (+17.66%). When your largest holding has a month like that, it is going to be a good month. There were also assists from Disney (+6.36%) and NanoViricides (+4.43%):

DIS: 4.10 to $68.59 ( 6.36% , 9.27% overall)– bought at $62.77
GOOG: 154.67 to $1,030.58 ( 17.66% , 18.01% overall)– bought at $873.31
NNVC: 0.23 to $5.42 ( 4.43% , 53.54% overall)– bought at $3.53
SLW: -2.10 to $22.67 ( -8.48% , 15.13% overall)– bought at $19.69
TC-PT: -0.95 to $17.02 ( -5.29% , -5.29% overall)– bought at $17.97
