Ed’s Monthly Portfolio Summary for November 2013   Leave a comment

November was a good month for my portfolios, although not stellar:

Ed’s Overall: +1.69%
Ed’s IRA: +1.73%
Ed’s 401k: +1.65%
S&P 500: +2.80%
ACWI (all-world index): +1.59%
JUBAX: -0.51%

Because I tended to be conservative in November, I held onto cash positions which probably should have been invested. But hindsight is 20/20…

As for my 401(k), here are the specific results:

DIS: 1.95 to $70.54 ( 2.84% , 12.38% overall)– bought at $62.77
GOOG: 29.01 to $1,059.59 ( 2.81% , 21.33% overall)– bought at $873.31
NNVC: -0.52 to $4.90 ( -9.59% , 38.81% overall)– bought at $3.53
SAN: 0.30 to $8.94 ( 3.47% , 3.47% overall)– bought at $8.64
TC-PT: -1.75 to $15.27 ( -10.28% , -15.03% overall)– bought at $17.97

It actually isn’t as bad as it looks, mainly because NNVC and TC-PT are both small positions. Both of them combined aren’t even half the size of my Disney position, which is my second largest holding.

On another positive note, my IRA has turned positive for the previous 12 months, up 2.25%. This is the first time it has been positive for a 12 month period since 2011.
