Pre-market movers

The S&P 500 levels to watch today:

UPSIDE: 1896-1897 (4 data points and April’s high), 1898 (top of the Bollinger Bands), and 1902 (May 13th’s high and the all-time high).
DOWNSIDE: 1891 (May 2nd’s high), 1883-1889 (9 data points and March’s high), 1880 (May 12th’s low and the 20 day moving average), 1878 (5 data points), 1872-1873 (2 data points), 1870 (May 8th’s low), 1865-1868 (4 data points and February’s high and the 50 day moving average), 1862 (May 15th’s low and the bottom of the Bollinger Bands), 1859 (May 7th’s low), and 1848 (100 day moving average).

S&P 500 Daily Momentum: Bearish (weakening)
S&P 500 Daily Overbought/oversold: Neutral
S&P 500 Weekly Momentum: Mixed
S&P 500 Weekly Overbought/oversold: Neutral (leaning overbought)
S&P 500 Futures (June): Leaning Positive
Overall: There was practically no impact on the S&P 500’s technicals after yesterday. With a long holiday weekend ahead, I would expect either a sell-off or a low volume melt-up.

  1. Looks like GTAT will open up nicely today on article that Samsung is also considering sapphire displays. GTAT will likely not benefit directly from that as they have exclusive with AAPL. There is one other company (something like RUBI) that can do the sapphire display equipment.

  2. RBCN (Rubicon)

  3. Oops… My “long-term hold” on tc-pt sold this morning at $16.45 for +.80 and a bunch of divi’s. I will likely buy them back under $16, maybe $15.80 or so.

Also, my sco $27.50 calls will expire worthless today reducing my basis to around $26.50. I will look to resell calls next week.

  4. Had a great day. Up over 2% with only a couple calls, GTAT and SCTY in the red. Everything was up a little and GTAT a lot. Everyone have a great holiday.
