  1. Nice move Ed! You should have posted it.

    • Ed, please post so others can leverage your strategies

      • Thanks guys, but this is why I play the 10-11 am period. If there is a big market move (other than the one at the start of the day which is usually highly volatile), it typically comes in that hour (not always).

I would also point out my last 2 daytrades like this were losers, although this one covered both of them. That’s why I don’t typically post it. Also, the trade can be very time-sensitive, so if you hopped on the trade minutes after me, on most days you might have missed most or all of the profits. It was only today that the momentum carried for a longer time period than normal.

  2. Ed, as long as you are playing the downside you should consider TZA. Small caps are more volatile and weaker at the moment. You’ll probably achieve a greater profit.

    • Trader,
I know the technicals better on the S&P 500, plus they don’t jump as radically as the small caps. The first rule of daytrading is to minimize loss. My SPXU/UPRO trades have done that. The next step is to maximize profits. While today was positive, I’m not convinced that I’m there yet.

  3. great timing between 10 and 11am
